Hi Penny, nice to find you here. Yes, I would love to get together! I'm in West LA and live near-ish the Getty Center. We could meet at my home and take one car to the Getty so we can split the parking fee! I would also like to invite Ari, another SoCal miniature painter in this forum. Let's keep it in mind for September. What classes are you taking? @Susan Dobrian and I are signed up for VP's Ether class.
It made me chuckle to see myself as VP! My mother writes to my dad like that and always has done as a shorthand for as long as I can remember (I think even when I was so young I wasn't supposed to understand - they would say stuff like should we have P-I-Z-Z-A when they thought I couldn't spell!). It feels really intimate and I like it, MY! ;-) hehe. Topical too as I'm going to post something soon about parenting and teaching and commonalities and differences, master, apprentice, etc etc.
Hi everyone, I'm Penny and I live in Ojai in Southern-ish California. I've been taking geometry and Persian painting through the School of Traditional Arts and putting my energies into other creative pursuits. I'm so happy Vaishali is still doing online classes. I love the idea of meeting at the Getty for tea, @Kathlyn Powell and @Mary Yaeger! @Susan Dobrian , maybe you'd make the drive too!???
I am Susan and live in Aliso Viejo, California (between Laguna Beach and Mission Viejo). My primary study has been geometry, but now that I have dipped my toe in her classes, I sign up for everything with her!
Hi, I'm Mary, I live in Los Angeles and I'm seeking balance, while we share creatively about miniature painting and much else that pertains to life and art (which is everything, right?)
Hi, I'm Nadia! I live about an hour outside Boston, eastern time zone. Always looking for people to go to exhibitions with --- planning a trip to NYC this summer to see Shahzia Sikander's new exhibit and also to the Met. Any other New Englanders here?
ahoy…. I’m on the North Fork of Long Island across from New London.
Hi! I'm in Florida!
Hi Susan, thanks for the welcome!
Hi Nancy and welcome! I live in California now, but I spent years in Iowa. I know those winters very well!
Hello everyone I'm Nancy. I may be the only one in the midwest, I'm on Central time.

I’m Kat, in Woodland Hills, CA (near Los Angeles). So delighted to find this community, far flung though we may be!
@Mary Yaeger Hopefully some day we can meet at the Getty for tea! How will you gild the Conference of the Birds, flat-gild leaf or shell gold?
