Gayumars done, and what a feat
I think I now deserve a treat
More deadlines in May, more to be done
So just for now I'll stall the fun
And keep this letter short and sweet...
...this is it, in full technicolour with the iPhone only...
...(and here are all my lovely colours, collected over decades now)...
…and here it is in the sun...
...I used several Clouds brushes in the end, 7 from memory. And not much of this special handmade lilac/lavender, it turns out...
...after Gayumars comes the Scroll. Thinking about horizontal formats after a lot of verticals...
...even different book formats, a tall book of columns... and different paints, including neon and glow effects in the Chinese shop signs. I grew up in Hong Kong and neon had a definite impact on my, etched into the back of my retina forever. It's important to preserve neon: who would have thought it would be a relic in itself? The old Hong Kong neon sign makers are going out of business and their signs being turned into LEDS. Neon is way better.

...Above: Beetlewings, courtesy of my lovely sister, Alisha. These were also used in miniature paintings, just stuck on to get an iridescent effect. Talking of paint effects: iridescent paint will also be used in the Chinese Shop signs class (which also has a relationship to the Memory Palaces I'm making digitally - also aiming to finish those very soon).

...Londoners, did you know about this place? London's very own psychic street in a warren of streets leading off of a bazaar off Queensway...
...This month was birthdays galore. I found a trick: go to a local cafe, bring your own candles and celebrate there. That way you can avoid making a (mess of a) birthday cake for the kids, and no crumbs at home! Professional cake slices, and less cake overall = healthier and sets the bar lower for future too. I have other skills...
...which don't necessarily include rollerskating. Very cute how rollerskates still come up to Kashi's knees and take up half his leg. We went both roller skating and ice skating on the same day at his request, and bowling for the older one, who will now show up less and less as he gets older and older and more autonomous (not necessarily on skates)...
...He found the elephant!
Neonly yours,
Vaishali Prazmari
P.S. I had to end with another of the 1000 faces - an ice-skating semi-triumphant po-face. Also from the penguin crutch ("which we never had growing up, aargh!")
