Tarot cards in February
Feeling light and very airy
Because we've chucked extraneous stuff
Art and kids are central and they're enough

... Comfy end-of-winter slippers...

…morning coffee...

…and messy hair (actually this is tumbleweed based on Leonardo da Vinci's moving grass)...

...which Andy Stahl also had (this is in preparation for his memorial on 10 April at All Souls Church, Langham Place)...

...my painting was exhibited for one night only at a lord's party in Portland Place - at said party a saxophonist was also playing on an old bed we gifted to an artist friend, Philip Firsov - can you spot the painting?

... It's this one: a tinselled movie poster for Shahrazad the storyteller...

...The 1001 Nights reading group is open to all wherever you are in the book. We will be discussing from Night 245 and it's one of the most interesting story cycles yet - just started a new story-within-a-story. We also discuss general Nights-related questions; watch out for the pink camel.
The Scroll Apprentice class starts up again; email me if you have never taken this class before but are interested. Take a look at all the rest of my 2025 classes.

...I found some ironic book covers while browsing in a book shop. Training for trainers, and Veganistan - is it possible? Hopefully... she did one called Veggiestan once which I think is possible...

...Thinking of spring coming put me in a frivolous mood, like Fragonard's famous Swing painting at the Wallace Collection. I also recently found out that they did not wear underwear (underpants/knickers) as we know it today, so he was looking up her skirt directly at her, which is the real theme of this painting...

...and if that had happened to me I would have given him the death stare this robot is demonstrating. It was made by my kids in about 20 minutes in a cardboard frenzy. They love getting parcels because: "More cardboard!" and we get a junk robot. Below, they made rice dough Mah Jong pieces ...

I went to a circus memorial where you're supposed to wear bright colours, like this wonderful lady doing a performance piece in pink...

...Kashi is wearing bright red under his Forest School outdoor clothes (they spend the entire day outdoors whatever the weather, unless there are severe winds). Below that, I took him on a date and attempted to teach him chess (which I started to learn age 4). We ended up playing Silly Chess, which is his version of the game. Then he made toy theatres at home, one of his favourite things to do. I am also introducing them to the concept of planning and keeping a diary of their activities...

...And here he is being a Tube Buddha and solemly sipping his bubble tea which is disgusting. Who likes bubble tea? It's not tea, it's flavoured sugar with tapioca balls at the end.

Anyone guess what this lovely contraption is? My lovely friend got it for me and I've wanted one for ages (the whole picture is a clue).

Cardly yours,
