Halloween scenes
Prazmari dreams
Pumpkins that are yoked
And dragons that smoke
A brush that's a peacock
I'm watching the clock
Aladdin is done
By Christmas it should come...
...introducing the new Peacock Brush from The Perfect Brush!...
...Two types:
Eye: the round eye and the symmetrical central part of the feather
Tail: the longer, elegant and asymmetric side feather...
…An earthly representation of the Simurgh or Phoenix herself, the iridescent peacock plume offerings are a homage to the most beautiful bird in the world.
Wear it as a hair accessory. Use it for fan marbling. Use it to fan someone. Fan yourself - see how the delicate fronds respond immediately to even the slightest tremor in air currents. As the bird with a thousand eyes in its shining tail and the national bird of India, this is an elegant and beautiful objet d’art in itself and makes an excellent (early Christmas?) gift. To be given a shimmering peacock feather was also a mark of official merit in Qing Dynasty China.
A peacock proposal: how will you use yours?
Please note that although the colours pack a brilliant punch, this is a fragile and delicate piece; exercise appropriate caution when using or admiring. Each piece is unique. Not that many in stock. It's a rare brush...
...A Chinese paper lattice, with my own twist: 'paper stained glass'! I used tracing paper as I'm really into that for my book making. When my toy theatres come out, I'll be making these (or you'll be making these) in card, which is sturdier. Another paper lattice class here if you missed the first, the last one: https://www.vaishaliprazmariteaching.com
And other book classes too for November, which involve the art of cutting out paper. Make paper instruments: paper astrolabes! Inspired by a conference I went to in January, these really were a thing - and in book form, too. Get those paper cutting skills honed and ready for toy theatres coming...
Book book classes
...Feast your eyes on those paper instruments above! We'll also include paper calendars in the Book of Days.

...Seen around London, more people are inspired by - or subverting - miniature painting. I'm heavily influenced by Indo-Persian miniature painting especially for my upcoming toy theatres (more featured next month). We caught this miniature-inspired photography show by artist Arpita Shah. I'd not heard of the Centre for British Photography until now.
Photographers take note: another photography gallery in London for you!...
…Strong gazes from females. I'm interested in the gender roles in miniatures too. They can be gender neutral until you add hair and accessories. More traditional miniature painting teaching and small figure painting at: https://www.vaishaliprazmariteaching.com ...
Book classes
...I appreciate the traditional oval form of the photos. They were very arresting...
..And they sat very nicely for their portraits. The fast-moving boy glimpsed below is hard to pin down for a proper photo...
...He's the opposite of slow miniature painting. I have pinned myself down and filmed myself painting. I rejigged the website a bit to make the film library easier to find. You can watch calm painting films here: https://www.theperfectbrush.co.uk/shop ...
More brushes and beautiful tools here
...The smoking dragon is less peaceful. I absolutely love smoke and mirrors and illusions so theatre is the right outlet for me, especially at this time of year. Above is our Halloween smoking dragon, outside our door ready to welcome trick-or-treaters. And as mentioned above, most of my painting films are peaceful. But there are also Poison flowers such as the Corpse Flower, a Melancholia film, and an Architecture: Desolate City to get you right in the Halloween Addams Family mood: https://www.theperfectbrush.co.uk/shop
The monthly meeting link is also over at the Forum, which now is a real hub of information and you just need to scroll around or use the Search tool to find information. It's sorted into broad categories too.
The Zoom link is via the Forum https://www.miniaturepaintingforum.com or here's the direct link:

...Our main pumpkin this year, yoked to the porch roof (with a clump of spiders behind) - there is more, but I'll share (or @patrikprazmari will likely share) across social media videos. The most memorable quote of earlier in October was from a dear friend who visited our house for a playdate. She said: "Oh, I see you've already decorated your house for Halloween" - and we replied "Erm, no, actually we haven't decorated it at all, that's just our normal house..." Hahaha! And now we have. It's great fun...
...Sunnier days in early October include a day out to Bucks Rail Centre with the boys and nice friends. I love this photo of Thomas the Tank Engine blue and red with my blue and red boys. Did you know that there used to be a travelling post office by train?...
...And straight back into today, late October, when cute pumpkins and ghoulish skeletons are the order of the day. Happy Halloween! Happy Samhain! Happy transition between the worlds!...
Smokingly yours,
Vaishali Prazmari
