Hello everyone! 🌺
After a little break from painting I took back my brushes and started this little guy! It's a copy based on CBL Per 277.15 from the Chester Beatty Library, Dublin.
Manuchihr pursuing his father's murderer Tur, from the Book of Kings (Shahnama) by Firdausi, 16th century. I'll post my progress, it would be great to get your feedback as I'm going along!! I've decided this time not to use shell gold, but a golden ink from Winsor and Newton. I prepared the paper as I learned with Vaishali on the "Rock" class, it's toned with tea, starched and burnished. I transfered the design and inked it with Chinese ink.
Thank in advance for your feedback!!
Thank you so much dear Vaishali!! It's reassuring to know I'm going in the right direction! I'll keep you posted on my progress, thank you! I did find the ink quite good, the only down side is it tends to separate from the gum quite quickly and you need to keep stirring it to get a good result. Apart from that, I'm very happy with it! I'll check the other options for other works though, it's nice to experiment! 🦋
