I promised my son I'd paint him a yellow sunflower in summer. Such a glorious bright colour and so appropriate for these sunny days... and probably something to brighten up the mood in the depth of winter too, as a reminder of the peak of summer! I'll be painting this on a background of turmeric-stained paper as I want the full-on yellow on yellow. Imagine an injection of peak yellow in midwinter - it's a mood-lifting prescription for your future self in advance. You'll need to prepare the paper in advance; I recommend turmeric for a vibrant yellow or saffron or pomegranate (actually, there are many dyes for yellows). And have the drawing traced and transferred and inked in as usual; these are shorter evening painting classes.
