Here's the First Lady of the year! (Since last month's was a lady, albeit a cross-dressing one.) This one's a Lady lady. She's a princess! From now I'll try to incorporate Lady ladies into the mix. I'd like to do her completely plus the background as it's relatively simple. (We'll move onto more complex ladies later.) I like her as she looks ever so slightly worried, and I empathise! She's also got a lovely olive skin tone. All in all, I think it's quite an achievable painting to complete. And for a 'red' face - which didn't properly occur - however here's to having a go. We'll spend most of our time on the lady but I'd like to try for a redder, ruddier skin tone, or perhaps more coppery, and this is a good reference image - it's from the Eckstein Shahnama. Another reason I like this is because it's Turkish, and we've heavily focused on Persian and Indian imagery as I'm more familiar with those, but the Ottomans had their own tradition of miniature painting (of course all these influences cross each other). We'll do 1 face; by now I think it's a relatively simple face and also achievable. See you soon!
